sad day. the coalition has worked well , protest when needed , dialogue and common sense around the table with all stakeholders. the fact is david handleys comments atr the dairy summit are correct, the nfu have allowed some major processors off the hook wake up nfu .

Sorry but the NFU are at least a decade too late to make such a claim. For too long the NFU have been the only ones who believe that their initials mean National Farmers Union!

As a long standing member of the NFU I am deeply dissapointed by the attitude taken in response to the FFA. It is quite clear that the position of negotiation without the added threat of action and blockade is not going to cut any ice with a stubborn retail sector that looks after their own interest without any concearn for the businesses that supply them. The NFU should seek to move closer to the FFA position instead of their adopted position and whilst the NFU may have more influence in the corridors of power, it is the action on the ground that has actually moved the market not the political manouvering, the NFU should fundamentally recognise this and not seek to further undermine the FFA leadership.

I am a long term nfu member and past local office holder but I have to say ffa are right and peter kendall is wrong.the nfu seem to giving way to supermarket pressure at a time when we are economics are a lot worse than this time last year.please remember nfu you are ment to be supporting Famers

If the NFU think that they will have any effect on improving milk price now and going forward then I feel they have lost the plot!
The only reason farmers have tolerated there involvement is because of the coalition with FFA.
Farmers can’t wait for Peter Kendall to wake up to how things are in the supply chain and how broken farmers bussiness are.

The NFU will lose membership from the dairy industry! Wake up and listen to the dairy farmers 450 from the dairy industry in Holsworthy on wed 24 April representing 500 million litres of milk. Struggling and wanting action when it is needed. The NFU is scaring no one, not the govt, retailers or processors. David Handley is representing our feelings and circumstances better than NFU, yet we pay the NFU 90% more, but for how much longer?

The Dairy Coalition was the greatest achievement of dairy farmers ever and because of it we are moving in the right direction at a pace.Failure of processors to sign up to the code does not suprise me,it’s not worth the paper it’s written on anyway!!!but the coalition is,and David Handley is the only man prepared to stand up and speak for us,he needs the coalition behind him and the coalition is nothing without the FFA.Someone bang their heads together and get it sorted out.

Only unity will get results.NFU playing into the processors hands.Dairy farmers are
easyily pickoff but togetherness brings success.

What are you playing at NFU ?
The only organisation that gets the milk buyers into negotiations and has the producers confidence is FFA.
They have given the milk coalition some form of credibility,without them
it will just revert to a useless, toothless talking shop again .
